Maui fires

My wife & I were there nine years ago and we absolutely loved it!! The only reason we haven't been back is because it's eleven hours of flight time. I have read the BS stories that the Governor says it was due to climate change and glad to hear almost everyone isn't buying it.

Terribly sad, I guess schools let out and kids went home only to burn alone. Awful

We've been to Maui twice. Stayed in Kaanapali the 1st time and Kihei and then back to Kaanapali the 2nd. We always spend time in Lahaina. My daughter learned to surf in the area. We'd get shaved ice at Ululani's in town. Lahaina, IMO also had the best Luau. We're headed to Oahu next March and were thinking of heading to Maui for a few days. Not sure how that will work out now because we love that side of the island. We're pretty sad (understatement) about the whole deal and pray for the locals and their families.
