I recently aquired a 1982 SR 210 cuddy. The cuddy has never been used other than storage for towels etc. The head has also not been used, all basically looks about brand new. I filled the head (Aquamate) with water and put treatment in all accordingly. The bellows will not pump water. It feels as if it has pressure in it from what I assume is a sticking valve that has seated from lack of use. How do you go about removing the manual pump bellows? Does it simply pop out or unscrew or do you have to get to it from the inside of the tank?

Thanks.

I just received my replacement bellows from thetford ( www.thetford.com ) for my 85 260 Weekender. The directions state to cut thebellows in half then pull out with pliers. you then have to take the flush tube off of the old bellows. I also ordered the inlet tube which needs to be replaced with the new bellows. The new bellows then gets put into place with some sort of tape/putty that is provided in place already on the new bellows( I'll probably use a bit of caulk also.

Thanks. Sounds like I will be looking at a full replacement of the bellows. Let me know how your swap goes, if you have any recommendations.

Appreciate the information.

i'm putting it in this weekend i'll let you know how it goes. go to the thetford website and get the customer service #.Get the serial # off the toilet and you can buy the replacements directly from them. If your toilet just says "aquamate" like mine does its probably the same part. It was $23 with shipping.

Mine is just an "Aquamate". I could not find any model name or number in my paperwork. I have not looked for a serial number on the head itself. Were you able to find a serial number?

Mine is just an Aquamate also-no model #. Look at the directions sticker under the lid for the serial #. Thetfords phone # is 1-800-521-3032.
Your toilet is probably same model as mine.
Bellows replacement part #-07862
inlet tube with valve part #-07024

job completed in 5 minutes this weekend. you might need to cut through the old putty with a knife to help you pull it out. I didnt use caulk as the putty provided on the bellows worked great. just make sure the valve assembly on the new inlet tube is on the bottom when you install it.

Great, thanks for all the information. I am going to do the same to mine soon.

Thanks for the information on the replacement parts. Parts were like original and the job was simple. Replacing the pumpout hose next.
