I posted this originally under trailer and towing, so my apologies. More of a docking system question, so posting here. I purchased a place on the water and it has a rail system (like train tracks, with a cart that holds your boat. Its about a 20% incline up from water. Theory is the cart is in water, drive boat up on to cart. Then electric winch pulls cart and boat up out of water. After inspecting the rail and cart system, it will support my 26 foot sea ray sundeck. ~6,000 pounds, plus gear 70 gallon fuel tank, etc. In searching for a 120 volt winch (AC power is there), I see there are a lot of them. So my question is, does anyone have experience with this rail and cart system? Looking for a winch for a marine environment. Steel rope or synthetic? TIA for any information or if there is another thread on this. I did a search but could not find.
