Are there are any marinas that offer transient overnight dockage within walking distance of any of the new casinos around Lake Erie? We couldn't come up with any last night, and now I'm thinking about it again and kind of surprised it doesn't exist. Or does it?

Try asking northshore i think he was in the river in Cleveland two seasons ago.

Come on down Lake Michigan and we can set you up. In New Buffalo the casino shuttle picks up every hour all evening right near the municipal marina. You may also be able to do it in Michigan City.

How far do you want to go?
Come on down to the renaissance of the Buffalo waterfront.
Transient dockage at Canalside, water and power available.

Yes , located next to the Rock & Roll hall of fame in downtown Cleveland - You can dock at North Coast Harbor Marina. You can basically walk to everything in downtown Cleveland. Horseshoe casino , hotels, all pro sports stadiums , restaurants , museums , grocery stores ,etc.....
There are actually 3-4 other marinas within a mile or two you can dock at , but , you may need to arrange transportation.

The "Rock & Dock" at Northcoast Harbor has it's own site: http://www.rockanddock.com

We spent a few days there last summer. They had a few teething problems: staff training is on-going and there's no WiFi, but otherwise a great spot. I'm looking forward to going back.

Roller Coaster has it.

You are right at North Coast Harbor and docking in the shadow of the rock hall.
Where the boat is just ahead, is all public docking now.
Not pictured but off to the right is the science center.
Also to the right is the William Mather lake freighter which you can check out.
And if you wish to become instantly depressed, you can visit Cleveland Browns Stadium even a bit further to the right.

The casino is about a 15 minute walk to what shortly will look like a blast zone!
The casino is right on Public Square and come Monday, (sorry Jimmy) there is a ground breaking ceremony to commence the destruction and rebuilding of the square.
The republican convention is in town next year so they are tearing the place up!

Feel free to PM me if you need any more info!
I'm enjoying watching my hometown going through its third renaissance since I've been alive - maybe this one will stick :smt038

BTW: The USS COD, a WWII submarine is a very short walk as well, if you are into WWII or military stuff.

How long does the trip take from Catawba west harbor to rock & dock?

Its about 60 miles, so depending on your speed....

How about the Hollywood casino in Toledo? , I see it is located on the Maumee river - Is there any dockage available near by?.

Great question. That would be a great weekend trip if it had a marina as part of the complex.

Is Hornblowers still there? I remember when they built that restaurant/barge in the Sandusky Bay and then towed it over to Cleveland to become Hornblowers. The food was always decent, but the views were incredible.

What used to be the restaurant/barge is still there but it is a business called Lean Dog. They hold seminars there on occasion for engineers in the electronics, programing and firmware industry so I get to go aboard now and then.
