Went to my local marina. As i pulled in a guy was launching a 26' bayliner. As i sat and waited while he lined up and backed in. The ... summers eve feminine product... of an suv driver was blowing his horn at me while he tried to back out of a parking spot. So being nice i rolled up so he could back out and wait while guy launched. After the bayliner was backed in suffiently for safe passage i began to pull forward towards one of my fishing spots by the marina. As i began to roll forward im almost clipped by the DB suv driver as he blows his horn and flips me off and peels out of the marina.

I sound a long blast of my horn and give him a one finger salute. (At this point everyone in the marina is watching this DB) He didn't even want to wait for the guy launching. I really hope the DB suv driver comes back to the marina as the guys who run the stand there have learned my truck as one of the local fisherman who helps keep an eye out for problems.

Sorry for the rant.

Within a few days the Bayturd owner will be posting about a prick Sea Ray owner at the same marina on BOC. . :smt043

Yep, it's gonna be a long weekend for those of us that work and play at our marina's. Please everyone be safe.....and just smile and laugh at stupid moves like this guy did to you. You can fix stupid!

You know something we don't? Always thought stupid was permanent! Isn't it funny how two missing letters can change a sentence.

Been there done that. There are a lot of angry jerks out there at the ramps. Its difficult to be patient when people are blatantly selfish at the expense of everyone else.
I've been a complete jerk before and pissed people off but later I felt bad about loosing control. I only hope that guy feels some remorse, though from the sound of it he seems a helpless narcissist.

I forgot it was the start of the season this weekend. I think I'll pack a cooler and head to the ramp tomorrow. Too many whacko s out this weekend!

Many years ago I had a 20' bowrider and was waiting in line with it at the ramp. The trucks/trailers were all lined up nicely waiting our turn at the 3-lane ramp. A guy in a jacked up Ford F250, all black w/loud pipes drove past the line, made his 180 turn to line his boat up with the ramps and got out to get ready to launch. A couple of guys who'd been waiting in line yelled to him to get in line like the rest of us had.

He yelled something I couldn't hear and went on to prepping his boat. One guy, then another got out of their trucks and went to the F250 to confront the jerk about his manners. An argument ensued followed by some pushing and shoving, then the two guys proceeded to stomp the crap out of the guy. I mean REALLY stomp the crap out of him. When they were done they both walked back to their trucks.

The guy in the Ford picked himself up off the asphalt and climbed in his truck and drove off, leaving his rear tie downs lying on the ground.

I was a cop at the time but didn't intervene. Street justice is often better than what the criminal justice system can do.

I know some officers just like you....and they are some of the best! It saves a lot of time money and paperwork

This behavior is very typical in our society today. You also see this type of person on all the highways who will not give you an inch, speed through work zones and in general act like jerks. It's great to read a story like this. I can only imagine his embarrassment at having his little ass kicked in front of all those people. He has probably been out of control all of his life and been a total disaster to his parents. One of the most important things a parent can teach a child is courtesy. Good manners will follow you all of your life if they are taught at an early age.

I think you need to reread the original post. The person with the bad manners was not the BayLINER owner, but the driver of an suv that was parked near the ramp. I don't know why some of us disparage other boat owners because of their choice of boats. They make more than one brand and style of boat for a reason, we all like different things. The one thing we all have in common is a love of boats and the water. That alone means you have more in common with the bayliner owner than with 90% of the people that you know. I sold my Sea Ray to buy a Silverton as my boating requirements had changed and I am sure that you can come up with a nasty name to call me if you put your mind to it. I hate to quote Rodney King, but, can't we all just get along. I would rather see someone in a rowboat than not boating at all. We are all proud of our boats. I have a 41 foot boat, should I not talk to some with only a 40 foot boat. That kind of elitism is counter productive to the hobby we all love and just downright stupid.

Just to add a statement. I took some my slip neighbors wife, sister, and husband out for a short ride, in the marina a bass boater and his kids were coming in at half power...wake rolling off his stern. As we passed we asked him if he saw the no wake markers, yes, I can read....my neighbors wife then asked if he understood what he was reading ( ex school teacher ) only then did he slow down to no wake!

My comment to people who don't respect the "No Wake" sign goes something like this (and I say it very nicely)...

"Apparently you can't read or don't understand English because you came into the No Wake zone too fast. That sign means you are supposed to be going slow enough that your boat doesn't put off a wake. Those of us who keep our boats here would appreciate if you'd slow your boat down, and then it might be a good idea to learn English."

One really nice feature of most cell-phones is that they can tag a picture with GPS coordinates. Take a picture of the boat getting the wake and registration number. Pass that along with the location to the local enforcement bureau. I know that some jurisdictions are pretty eager to enforce no-wake restrictions.

Justice and payback! They do happen! The boater was back today, he broke down just outside the entrance....he ran out of fuel and needed a tow to the fuel dock. He wasn't in distress and not in the channel...we made him wait for 30 mins and I got to go get him....pulled him in on one engine and dead slow ( safely )....Justice!

Mr Huff, I could... but I won't. :smt001.
