I have paper charts for Georgian Bay on the boat "just in case". They are outdated now, but there are very few changes in buoys in our area and the lake shore/bottom doesn't change so they are still useful as back up to my Raymarine, iPAD and iPhone if they all fail for some reason or Putin shoots down the GPS satellite network.
When we bought our summer place, the former owner left some old paper charts from the 60's and 70s, including a really old style one in fathoms. It has cruising headings/bearings and anchorage notes penned over top from his cruising days back them. So it has a neat feel to it. My wife had two of them framed with antique wood and they are on the wall up there. One is a bit newer and its of the whole of Georgian Bay which is great when visitors come over to the cottage and we can give them an overview of where we are and where we are headed on the boat.
