There must be a way to lift the engine hatch on my 390DA if batteries are dead but can you folks offer the solution?

Most of them have pins that need removed before it will raise manually... I guess your supposed to be to reach them through removable portals. Other option would be to try to charge the batteries through a cigarette lighter or some where in your electrical panel.

This has been discussed here recently... but I don't recall the other solutions. I do know yours will be very heavy... 2 or 3 man job to raise manually!

There is an adaptor that you hook up to a spare battery and you plug that into a 12 Volt socket then you can raise the hatch. My boat came with one.

There are access hatches under the back seat you need to remove.
You have to remove pins and the pin probably has a cotter key in the end of it.
It is a tough job to get the pins out and then at least a 2 man job to raise the hatch.
The attached link shows you what you are dealing with.

It is probably an Acculift MQ34 linear actuator.

This is the cable you can plug into a jump box and the 12v accessory outlet on your boat to raise the hatch....assuming it's just a dead or disconnected battery issue. There are similar connectors you can hook to a battery with clamps on one end and 12v male connector on the other end.

Thanks everyone......I like the idea of powering through the helm 12v outlet. Also I now realize on my 390DA I have an access hatch next to the main engine hatch that is directly over the batteries so I could remove that and jump power directly to the batteries from a jump box to power the hatch I suppose. Knew there had to be a method.
