Been shopping for Manifolds /risers . I have a V-6 center rise, 4.3 liter mercruiser engine.
I'm amazed at the variation in price.. I've found riser/manifold kits sold online. The kits comprise enough parts to do one engine (two manifolds and two risers sold together, with bolts, gaskets) I'm finding the "kits" can be as low as about half the price of buying individual parts. It makes no sense !!
I found one place online that quoted about $1,600 for manifolds, risers and spacers to do both engines. Another place sold everything separate and quoted $2,700 for exact same parts, and same manufacturer !!!
Are the "kits"made up from parts with slight imperfections ???
