I ordered Dry Joint Manifolds from Hardin Marine for my Mercruiser 5.0L Efi engine. First, this manifold requires the 3" spacer between it and the 7-degree riser. The bolts that were sent by the manufacturer with about 1" too long. So they didn't secure all three pieces together. So I found some spacers at Tacoma screw that worked. But now here is was I need help with. There is the brass pressure hose that goes from the engine to the starboard side manifold. On the old manifold, the 1/2" male end screwed right into the manifold, but now on the new one, the manifold hole is slightly larger. Also, the plug the manufacturer sent is slightly too big. Has anyone run into this and what was your resolution? I am looking for a 1/2 female to 9/16 adapter. The 1/2 female to 5/8 you can commonly find, and the 5/8 male side is too large for the manifold.

Unsure about the plug, but that line looks like a flare-style which requires an interim fitting. Maybe something like this?

I was thinking the exact same thing.
Not sure I would want any brass associated with the raw water.
Any bets on how long that corrugated S/S line will last with no support?

I would bench that line and go w/ bronze or S/S fittings and some marine grade heater hose.

Isn’t that copper line with the brass fitting for The EGR?
If so it does in fact require the female inverse flare fitting as pictured by Nater.
It is in the Merc parts manual.

folks, because I am a rocket scientist, I should of look at the old manifold, and seeing that I didn't take the old fitting out, reused it because it is perfectly fine. When you're way to focused and miss the forest for the trees.

LOL! Thank you! That made my morning. I’m happy to hear you got it sorted out.
