Maintenance on Hatch Lift Rams

I noticed that the Hatch Lift Rams have a zerk on them. Should I give these a small shot every couple of years? What is the recommended maintenance. (I have no manuals or literature).

I rub the cylinders with a good coating of lithium grease. Also on the cylinder of the power opening winshield vent.
