anyone have a magnum inverter battery charging system ? mine looks to have 4 -6v batteries tied to it for the inverter and generator start battery , not sure battery replacement options on this system

I have a magnum MS2812. Nice inverter. I just got done adding LiFePO4 batteries to increase the battery capacity available. Its a stand alone system, and is not charged via any engine driven alternator. This battery chemistry will burn up a normal alternator if used to charge them, with out making some modifications.

So the question is, is the generator alternator output going to charge these batteries? If the answer is yes, stick with the 4x6V LA batteries. If no, you could move to lithium based (takes some programing in the ME-ARE remote assuming you have that available).

If you want lithium, the last option is to put a standard start battery back on the generator, and make the inverter stand alone. You could add some commercially available LiFePO4 batteries to power the inverter.

thanks , i just bought new agm batteries x 4 -6v for inverter , and 4- 12v agms for engines, i need to figure out how this is wired up , and generator needs its own battery dedicated
