Magma party grilled disintegrated after 5 years

I had a Magma Newport for 14 years and sold it in perfect condition. I only replaced the burner tube several years ago for 30.00 so that's pretty good. It worked like a champ and I kept it polished and in a storage bag. People couldn't believe it was 14 going on 15 years old. If we had a big boat I'd do it all over again.

I’ve going to order a Dickinson sea-b-que. they get much better reviews on the net. I have a magma and it’s a joke frankly. Cooks about 1000 degrees on one side while the other side is barely warm, flares up and drips out the welds.
I have had my Dickenson for longer than ice owned a boat and got it used out if my stepdads garage rafters when they downsized from the farm 10 years ago . It usually spends half the year covered in snow and is not babied. Now I have a 268 and it lives on the boat .I ponied up for a home bbq now and am willing to bet my seabq will outlast the new grill . This year the burner let go at the screw down point and I just put a big washer on it to keep it in place till I buy a burner. My stepdad says the seabq was 10 years old when I got it so that's 20 years old now and with the abuse I gave it plus loads of use as our home bbq I am more than impressed and quite happy to spend the 80 bucks for a new burner should go another 20 after that

$25 at Walmart.... I had this thing out in 40 mph gust this past weekend and I had to turn it down because it was too hot. I have a BBQ at home that cost 3X what my first car cost. I have both the little Weber Q and the big Q ...one at the dock and one at the condo and this little Walmart bbq works just as well as the others.... 10 of these = 1 Magma.. What's up with that ?
