I just bought a 260 sundeck and it has a flag pole holder on the back of the boat. Would the rod holder mount from magma fit in this hole?

Only way to know for sure is to take measurements, but doubtful depending on what type of flag pole base it is. My flag pole mount won’t take the rod holder ..it’s not deep enough and won’t support the weight of the grill.

I like your thinking though... I wonder if you could add a backing plate to beef up the strength?..
You could cut off the rod holder and add a reduced dia of aluminum to fit the flag holder...any small machine shop would do that for you.... You just need the holder to be deep enough and rigid enough to support the weight

Hey @toddh I didn't hear good things about the Magma - and I was really attached to my Weber Baby-Q (otherwise known as the Q100). On cruisers forum I saw they had used the Magma 20" Bait Table ($71.41 on Amazon without the level lock rod holder adapter or $121.58 with the rod holder adapter).

I did the same thing and used a velcro strip to secure it to my 42 Sundancer. My plan is to store both the Weber and bait table in the dock box and only take them out and use them when having people over to grill (I hate clutter on the boat). When we go to Catalina Island for the weekend, I may transport with the grill and bait table attached, however with additional precautions if we encounter rough seas.

Here are some pics of the grill and bait table in place:

1) Screen Shot 2018-05-16 at 6.00.49 PM.png - note the proximity of the LA County Fire Department fireboat 110 in the upper left corner of the pic - case something goes wrong while grilling (fireboat featured in several episodes of the old TV show "Emergency!" for those of you born in the 60's or early 70's).
2) Screen Shot 2018-05-16 at 6.03.39 PM.png - another shot from the outside. I was able to avoid putting the velcro holders over the outside of the back bracket.
3) Screen Shot 2018-05-16 at 6.05.45 PM.png Grill open and ready for food. Another shot of the fireboat in the background. I like to joke that the CYC placed me here for a reason ;)
4) Screen Shot 2018-05-16 at 6.06.52 PM.png View from outside with grill open and propane bottle attached. This grill will also take the fatter green propane bottles but they are a little harder to screw on than the skinny blue ones.

I did the same, but used the longer Magma table. The cheapo grill is much larger than the expensive Magma and only $30 from Wal-Mart
