Looking for advice to change over from a macerator system to a pump out. I have a 1981 Sundancer 310 and it came with a flush toylet that holds untill full then with a flip of a switch it goes into a about a 10 gal. holding tank that when full macerates and pumps out. I guess you can do that in the ocean but not in lake erie!! I was thinking of bypassing all the pumps and running a hose up for a pump out system. Any advice????

I have never heard of a boat that has a macerator but no pump-out. I'm not an expert by any means, but are you sure of your system? Maybe you have the head where you have to take the 10 gal. tank out of the boat and empty in a toilet or pump it out on land? I have heard of boats with a pump-out but no macerator..... Now the important thing is this: there are very serious fines in New England for NOT having the macerator disabled in lakes and along the coast (like L.I. Sound which is a NO-discharge zone. Heavy fines are available not for doing it...just for being able to do it. Get this right for your boat/area.

If you can't utilize that 10 gallon holding tank and figure out a pump-out system for it, you can go with a MSD Thetford potti (or similar). They have provisions for pump-out. Obviously, you will have to install a waste fitting on your hull. If you go that route, get the 465, with battery operated pump. I'm on my second unit and they work great. With moderate use the batteries last a few years!
