Has anyone lubricated their engine hatch strut's?

I noticed the port side strut groans as I raise and lower the hatch. I've lubricated the hinges. I forgot to check if they had grease fittings on them before I left the boat today.

the actuator motor case has a grease fitting, so I apply some grease with the gun during my winterizing process. I also apply some grease on the arm itself. It won't hurt to do the same in the spring.

I've used Mercury 2-4-C, it has a lot of uses such as throttle & shift cables. Don't over apply it or you will lube yourself everytime you bump into it when you're in the ER.

With the hatch actuator fully extended, I applied a thin coat to the rod. There is a grease zerk on the bottom of the actuator, I gave mine about 6 pumps of 2-4-C grease a few years ago.

My hatch's piano hinge creeked a lot going up too, I gave it a shot of Jig-aloo this summer, and it quieted it down a lot.
