Those of you with the heavy sliding door with integrated steps to the bow - what to you lubricate the track with?

My door isn't as smooth as it used to be. Also, I see a lot of crud building up in the track, which needs to be cleaned out. I assume after the cleanup it will need to be re-coated with lube? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ollie

I used a water hose with a high pressure nozzle on it and washed out the upper and lower tracks.

After drying, I sprayed them with a dry lube that was advertised to contain teflon. I found it at HD and it worked very well. I would respray every few weeks and wash out every couple of months.

Worked for me.

I smear a little 2-4-C on the tracks at the beginning of the season and it makes it slide very easily and usually lasts the whole year

This is what I do.

It is amazing what collects in the track from a dirt/debris standpoint. I initially started with a "greasy' lube and it attracted 10x as much crap and it stuck in the track. The dry lube attracts much less.
