I have recently purchased an LMF200 gauge and two EP60R sensors to use for fuel management purposes. The product manuals and so forth indicate I can set up three tanks and three engines. I only want to monitor two tanks and two engines.

I have set it all up on the work bench and it seems to work ok, no nmea2000 problems but the units do not work as per the manuals or as per the Lowrance website.

The boat setup page allows me to select two engines and two tanks but does not give me the option to say how big the tanks are. All it says is 'Vessel' and accepts a single figure for capacity. So I can only set it up for a totaled fuel quantity. Likewise the partial fill command does not allow adding fuel to separate tanks, just the one vessel entry.

This version of the software (2.0.0 2450) seems to allow 8 engines and 5 tanks but it isn't possible to manage the fuel quantity of each tank individually which is of course completely useless.

I have spoken to Navico here in AU and to their credit they got some new units with the same software and hooked them up to see if they could replicate the problem before I sent my units in to them.... same result as I got with mine... So it appears this version of the LMF-200 (and they tried a 400 too) cannot manage multiple tanks. They have no idea why and no idea why the manuals and so forth all say it will work. There is just no way to configure it to work.

Does anyone have an LMF-200 and two EP-60R sensors in a twin engine two tank configuration that works correctly. If so i would really appreciate if you could please let me know the software version (it's in the system info menu). Maybe I can step back to a previous version.

The EP-60r seem to be ok. I have used another two I purchased at the same time with an HDS10 and it all worked ok so it is a definite bug or problem with the latest LMF-200 gauges.

Hi Testlab,

I fitted the same as you to my previous boat and yes had the same issues but.... I put it down to the fact that I only installed the EP60R (fuel flow sensor) and didn't have the EP65R (fluid level sensors) installed in the network?
You haven't said you have either so just a thought?
I read the **** out of the instruction manual and was a tad disappointed that function didn't work for me but was real happy with the fuel flow accuracy and reliability.

Thanks for the reply. The EP60R can manage fuel remaining by being programmed with the tank capacity and then deducting fuel used. I have them (EP60Rs) working great with an HDS10 and without EP65 sensors. It seems, much to my annoyance, the LMF-200 cannot process all the Lowrance proprietary PGN codes for fuel management even though it says in the manuals it can.

Oh well, I can live with it and manage things manually. Frustrating isn't it when manufacturers make these devices and they don't live up to their own hype. I am within my rights to demand a refund under our consumer laws but I want a working fuel manager, not a refund.
