Lowrance 3500 from 1998 290 DA - Ticking sound

I was out over the weekend and noticed a ticking sound emanating from my dash and when the depth sounder was turned off the ticking stopped.

I also had a few "loss of signal" display flashes while I was out running around.

Anyone have this issue?

And when I go back to the boat in a few weeks where to start?

The depth sounder installation looks to be original equipment to the boat.

Just an update.

I finally got under the boat and scrubbed it good with my deck brush while swimming and the ticking stopped and the readings are steady.

The bottom didn't have anything growing but it did have some sticky greasy film probably from sitting in some crappy water over the winter months.

Anyhow...... working good as of Sunday.
