Unfortunately I had to replace the lower unit this winter I hit an underwater log last summer. Last week I launched and noticed the trim gauge doesn't go down all the way on port engine that the lower unit was replaced. To me it seems the gauge needs to be adjusted but the service department said they have to pull and it's unrelated to lower unit being replaced and was the winter boat gremlins at work.

Just seeing if installing a lower unit can throw off the trim gauge and is it easy for me to adjust?

Thanks

Those sending units are known to be troublesome. It is a little bit of a coincidence though that now all of a sudden it is not working after they serviced the drive. I would say it is more likely that it was simply knocked out of alignment while they were doing their repairs. It is simple to adjust the sender, not as simple to replace them. There are instructions here somewhere. If I can find them I will post them here.

Also possible it could have been damaged with the log strike. Did it work after you hit the log?

Didn't have an issue with it after the log strike just when I launched it last week.

The lower unit moves up and down just fine but when the unit is lowered all the way down it's still showing that it's about 2 degrees trimmed up on the gauge. It's just seems like the gauge is off but I could be wrong.

There are two black "pucks", one on each side of the Gimbal ring in the center. One says "Trim Limit" and the other Says "Trim Position". Check to make sure they are not loose. It may need to be adjusted slightly as well.
