I don't see a grease fitting on my gimble housing lower steering swivel. Is there any way to grease it? Is it a sealed bearing? It is a 1988 5.7 with a R M/R alpha. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I know it is a buzy time for boat mechanics but does anyone know how I could find some info on this? Sorry to bump this to the top but I am splashing the boat fathers day weekend and would like to grease it if it is possible. Thank you in advance.

"gimble housing lower steering swivel".... perhaps better describe the part in question. I saw your post the first time and was not sure what you were talking about and still don't...lol. I will offer this, the steering arm penetrates the transom wall and connects to the swivel shaft that conects to the gimble ring. There is no bearing involved that I am aware of.

I see now...the LOWER swivel. My bravo just has a pin no bearing.

Thank you Woody and Quint4 very much for your time. Sorry my description sucked. I was hoping mine didn't have a bearing without a grease fitting. That would be bad. I wish the bushing had a grease fitting though. The upper bearing does have a grease fitting which is very easy to find. Have a great summer.
