Changed the gear oil a few weeks ago and never noticed anything before, but when it got to cold and I moved the boat into the garage, I noticed gear lube puddled on the concrete. Its comming from the lower plug. So I swapped the plugs and it slowed down, but I notice a very small puddle under the unit again. So I ordered two new plugs.

Anyone ever experience this? The two plugs had their gaskets, so it must be time for new ones.

When I changed mine the gaskets did not look good - I had already planned to replace them and was glad I had replacements on hand. The new gaskets should solve your problem.

I was told the plug gasket should be replaced every time the plug is removed.

I have read this as well on the board, you are suppose to replace the gasket every time you remove the plug/change the oil.

Most shops will actually give you the gaskets for free with the purchase of gear lube. : )

BTW, consider yourself blessed! It's always better to find out about a small leak with lube on the driveway than water in the lower unit. : )

Great point there.

I don't agree with these guys. You have a major problem here and I'd get rid of the boat before things get worse and get a brand new 330DA with v-drives. :wow::smt043:smt043
