I just installed a new amplifier and am getting a loud pop from the speakers when I trim my outdrive or trim tabs. I have the power wire coming from the output from the battery switch and the ground wire going to one of the batteries. I am parralleling the trim wire most of the cable run but I would be surprised the power ground wires would cause the amp to do this. My main guess is that I have an abnormally long rca cable an it is acting like a type of antenna.

What do you guys think?

Also another question. The head unit's remote turnon lead is connected to some wire even though there was no amp before I added one. Any idea what this might go to?

Come to think of it I had this same problem on my old celebrity and the power cables never came near the trim wire. Surely someone has had this happen too.

Same issue with us, only with our VHF, turned out to be a ground problem on the head unit.
