I know that trawler...... It used to have its home at the Capitol Yacht club in Washington DC next door to where I keep my boat. I thought that thing was bullet proof or at least waterproof. It has a steel hull. I don't understand why he didn't bring the boat around and put the bow into the waves. It is a slow boat and waves crashing over the stern is a bad idea on any boat.

1. I guess Mr. Trawler never heard that one should keep the bow to the waves, not the stern.

2. I hate being on the roads between 2 am until 7 am. Figure that nearly all of the damned truckers are either nearly asleep or on drugs. Every morning, I see at least one idiot weaving from lane to lane. I doubt that the state police actually bother to check when I call, but the calls are free and break up the monotony of the driving. I try to stay as far from trucks as I can and pass them as quickly as possible.

This country needs to move more freight by rail. Should be cheaper. Definitely safer and reduces the damage trucks do to the roads.

Best regards,
Frank

I went aboard one of Steel Away's sisters at TrawlerFest in Stuart last year; it is a very well-built boat, and if Steel Away was just as well built, I'd agree that her sinking was probably due to poor seamanship.

That was not the trucker driver's fault, a drunk girl driving a Camaro (friend of a friend) crossed into his lane and he was the only casualty.
