Twin 5.7 Merc Alpha I
Since I completed my repower this summer, I have a lot of parts that are still in good working condition, but my new motors came with all new components so I have a bunch of stuff to get rid of. All parts are off 1989 vintage small block 5.7's.

I have two Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel carbs, both working fine at time of removal and both had recent rebuilds in the last few seasons.

I have two Thunderbolt IV distributor with cap rotor and wires as well as the pick ups inside. I also have the Thunderbolt IV modules for these units. I also have a brand new unused pick up module that I kept as a spare.

Two flywheels with bolts, teeth are perfect.

Two couplers also in good shape.

Two shift converter units that bolt on to the riser, both units have the shift interrupter switches and both are in working order.

I have one brand new small block oil pan, never used. Bought it due to rust on one of my old engines but engine suffered water ingestion prior to getting new pan installed.
I have one peanut starter, worked fine at time of removal, spun engine much faster than the old larger starters.

I also have one alternator with pulley also working at time of removal.

I have three thermostat housings with the spring balls. All are new within the last three seasons, the third was an extra never installed.

Let me know if anybody has need of any of these items, I will entertain all offers and will send pics of what ever you are interested in. I don't want to scrap any of this is someone could use a part for a fraction of new cost.

I would also like a price in carbs

Sorry I missed this earlier, how about $100 each plus shipping?

Are you guaranteeing the carbs will work? I have a 7.4 Gen IV mercruiser... if you are positive they're working and will work on mine with a manifold choke, then I would like photos, and write me down for one. I have pay-pal.

Also if that distributor will work, I would take that as well with photos?

The carbs were both working when removed from engines. They were small block motors so putting them on big blocks may require a jet change, I don't know for certain as I'm not that well versed in GM products. May want to confirm that with an expert. I doubt the distributors would work on a big block. I can get pics early week if you want, traveling at the moment.

$100 for a good used working "Marine" Quadrajet is a good price. There is a difference between a Marine Quadrajet and an automotive one converted for marine use.
Not an expert by any means, but pretty sure that both the small and big block Mercruisers originally used 750 CFM Quadrajets. I do know of a Quadrajet that came off of a small block Mercruiser (one of my old motors) and went on a big block Mercruiser ( a friends boat) that performed well with no problems.
There were 850 CFM Quadrajets made for automotive use back in the day but I don't think any of them went on Chevys (same as Mercruiser). I think most went on Caddys, big Pontiacs, and Big Oldsmobiles.
Mechanical chokes are the same on big and small blocks. The rods that go between the carb and the manifold may be different, but the chokes are the same.
Using an electric choke is even better. Just need to pick up keyed power off of the coil.
I strongly advise against getting rebuilts from a large national rebuilder, especially the one based in Florida. They honor their guarantees after you deal with shipping back and forth, but their rebuilds are junk and you'll probably get an automotive Quadrajet converted for Marine use from them.
They claim that all their carbs are tested before they are sent out, but we had two we tried to use on my friends boat that were crap.
Not a whole lot of good used Quadrajets still running around out there.
Back when I repowered my old 300 Sundancer I sold the good motor minus the carb (put it on that same friends big block equipped boat and it's still running well as far as I know), but stripped the freshly rebuilt (by a trusted local rebuilder) Marine Quadrajet off of the bad motor, wrapped it up, packed it away, and stored it with my spare parts. It had only been on the boat about a week when I decided to repower.
My 68 GTO has the original numbers matching, date coded Quadrajet. Over the years I've been able to get hold of another numbers matching rebuilt to keep as a spare for the car, and yet another one that has never been apart. Those things are gold.
