I know this is a strange cry for help...185 Sport

I had set my wedding ring in the side storage next to the drivers seat. Come to find out there is a little 5 inch notch cut into the carpeted base next to the trim and the ring fell into it.

Does any one know where this goes as it looks to stop around the gas tank? I took out the cup holders but no luck finding it that way. There is a small channel for water run off and then a big drop to the inside of the boat. I am thinking about taking the back seats off and removing the white disks...is this ok to do? Is a ring magnetic?

Thanks!

If you don't have any luck, then a call to Sea Ray's 800 number might be in order. They can put you in touch with someone who knows how your particular boat was assembled and they may be able to tell you where to look for it.

I found it! FYI the side storage has a 4-5 inch gap for water drainage.

Hope this blunder will help spare somebody else from spending 4 hours looking for a wedding ring or similar your car keys.

Saved from having to explain to the wife why the wedding ring was off?

It was just the wife and I in the boat...not sure why I took it off I usually dont.

On another note I found a large handful of cut off zip ties and wire nuts and even a few screws while I was searching.

Weird, when I changed my oil I found some of the same things. i think Sea Ray's clean up crew must be slacking off.

After two years my 240 gave up a 6 inch cresent wrench the other day. I found it under the motor. I am positive it was not there the end of July when I cleaned out a couple of leaves. Still trying to figure out where it came from.

I don't believe Sea Ray does a good job cleaning up after themselves building boats. I also found way too much debris in my bilge area after I got my boat, I had to use a hose and clean out under tanks and push stuff down in by the bilge pumps and clean it out. Additionally, I had to vacuum all around the engine room and under fuel tanks to clean up all the cut tie wrap ends, wire cuttings, and wood screws.

There is a guy that has about a 45 foot sundancer down in Hampton (next to my boat in the winter) and he had a loose screw or bolt puncture one of his diesel tanks and created a big mess. Even though the boat was out of warranty, Sea Ray paid for the issue but still... I think he had over 100 gallons of diesel fuel spill into his bilge (and got pumped out through the bilge pumps). maybe we should pitch in and buy them a shop vac for their plant?
