Lost Comm Connection

On occasion I loose comm connection between the Smartcraft and the Starboard engine. I go down in the ER and wiggle some wires, then restart and it comes back. Don't really don't know which wire is faulty or loose. Anyone have any experience with this issue?

There is a Blue Cable that connects each engine Engine Harness to the Smartcraft Junction box at the helm. The end at the helm for the Starboard connection should be wrapped with Green tape. You may want to check those connections first. This cable is continous from the engine to the Junction box which should be mounted under the helm. Depending on if you have an SC4000 display, I *think* the engine cables may connect directly to the SC4000 but someone else will need to confirm that.

The blue SC cable should connect to the engine harness on the top rear of the engine and should be easily visible. If that does not fix it, you could check where the engine harness connects to the ECM.

**Before doing any of this, just to be careful, it may be best to turn off the battery switches to prevent possible damage to the ECM while wiggling the wires. They are sensitive and not something you want to damage.
