Does anyone know how to tighten up the radar arch on my 1989 340 EC? The port side is slightly loose, but the starboard side is very tight. Are there screws or something under an access panel that I just need to tighten up? Thanks Everyone!

If you take the screws out of the cover plate on the lower portion of the arch you will find the screw heads. The nuts are on the inside. If you look at this pic, you will see what I found behind my cockpit panels. Although I was told they are not structural when I built a new fiberglass piece and installed it it stiffened up the arch "sway" much more than I expected!

Thanks Wileecoyote. I will be going to the marina this weekend to check this out. Do you by any chance have an after photo that shows how you created the new fiberglass piece? Thanks again for the information!!!!

I didn't take any after photos, sorry. I used 3/4 plywood, I think that was the thickness (it's hard to tell because it was so swelled) and measured the area. Take into account the angle of the deck to sidewall, I didn't the first time and the bottom didn't sit flush.

I fiberglassed the plywood. The original appeared to just be painted, and I wanted it to last a little longer. As you can see it is fiberglassed to the sidewall and then there are 2 90deg brackets that screw into the deck. It's not that hard as the wood was so rotted I was able to chip it out and use the old fiberglass as a guide. I trimmed it down so the old stuff just stuck out about 1/4 so I could use it as a guide, but allow a good area to let the fiberglass adhere to the sidewalls.

I have a gap around both sides of the radar arch, how does the arch secure to the post? my mechanic said he would tighten it op? how does it become loose?

I could use some advice.
