loose drive

We put the boat in the water today, while on the trailer we noticed that the starboard side BIII drive moves about 3inches from left to right. The portside one barely moves 1/2 inch. Anything to worry about....

A lot to worry about. Sounds like a worn gimbal ring. The two nuts on the u-bolt that "pinches" your gimbal ring tight to the swivel shaft (located on your outdrive) should be kept torqued to 50 ft lbs to avoid ruining your gimbal ring. poor design in my opinion.

3 inches? is it movement at the ring or a problem in the cylinders?
