Was planning on calling the broker today to list my boat as I am moving up. At the boat this weekend having some good times and a friend of a friend starting asking all kinds of questions. Bottom line, took him out Sunday and made a deal. Now nothing is concrete until there is a check in my hand but looks damn good.

Now the fun part....BOAT SHOPPING!!!

Best way to do it, avoid broker fees and having strangers trampling through your boat for a year, plus you can give your friend a better deal.

If you already signed a contract with a broker you will still have to pay the brokerage fee. Most contracts written state such, read your contract to verify such.

Didn't even make the call to the broker. Was planning to today. Deal went down yesterday.

Good for you! What size are you looking at?

38 to 40 feet. The 260 was a great introduction to boating for my wife. She was never around boats or marinas before. She loves it as do our 3 young kids. I prefer a Sedan Bridge but I'm also looking at the 380DA.

We LOVE our bridge. We came from a 290DA. Then, we had twins, and there just wasn't enough room. If I ever need to escape the racket, there's the bridge - empty and waiting. Then again, they are only 4.5. Someday they will probably take that over also. We have several 390's on the dock, and they also love the size. However, they are all couples with no kids. Different story, I guess. Of course, we would really love the same vintage 44SD or the 47SD with the pimped out full beam master, but the funds or the justification just aren't there. DREAMS!!!
