Lookingfor trip planning advice st. pete to keys

Mike,

I did give Jim a call, he said the Marine Max trips are set up for their boat buying customers (I did not get our boat from them) however he did say we could tag along provided we make our own slip reservations. He also offered to provide me with the way points he has used many times, I doubt if we would follow the group due to timing but I might drop in and meet Jim, seemed like a good guy, I imagine I'll be getting parts and service from him at some point.

Thanks for the tip,

Joe

Joe,

Jim was our salesman (all 3 boats), and yes he is a good guy. James Morgan is the head of service, another good guy. Lots of folks bash MarineMax but I have found just the opposite with the Clwr branch, they have been a great dealer/service for us.

I can share my waypoints if needed... I have them for Yacht Channel, Marathon and Key West. The issue you might have in September is that it is hurricane season. I was supposed to be in Key West this past September/early October, but had to cancel due to a storm in the Yucatan that threatened Key West.

Mystic,

My wife and I were on a cruise ship in early October this year during that storm, the planned stops included the Yucatan, due to the storm we were stuck on the ship for seven days and stopped only twice. I was not anyones fault but we are not in a hurry to take another cruse. We will take our Sea Ray on vacay for the next few years.

Thanks,

Joe

I can't agree more with Mike...James has been servicing my Sea Ray's for the past 13 years...he does a great job. Clearwater MMax has always treated me right.

Mystic,

If it's not too much trouble I'd like to have the way points you have used, we are headed to Marathon and Islamorada, if conditions and time permit we may go the Key West as well.

Thanks,

Joe

I am bringing my boat down through the OKE in April, over to the Abacos in May, down through the Keys in June (including Islamorada and Marathon) and then back to St. Pete so I will have plenty of knowledge to share for your September trip.

Joe- I will send you a PM and then I can e-mail you the waypoints.

Brian
