If anyone is looking for a larger cruiser, Im looking to downgrade to a smaller trailer size cruiser (24, 26ft). Not sure where to post this, but thought Id start here. Moderators, please move or delete if in appropriate.

it'll be a very interesting process in this economy. I'm actually looking to move up to a late 80's 34 foot Express. The brokers seem to realize what the boats are worth, but all the private owners are pricing them way to high.

You should list it with Jim or post a link. I would be interested in looking at it. Let me know when you get some info up about it.

boats are real hard to sell right now, the economy is tough so you'd probably have to sell for less than you think it's worth, but you should be able to get a great deal on the smaller one

the tough thing in this economy for boaters is the book values dropped like a rock this past year

I hear you on that note; we came to the realization that we're into our 320 for the long haul because it is worth more to us than anyone else.

Interesting point, our salesman who sold us the 320 suggested that one of the best (if not only) ways to get out of big boat right now is find someone with a smaller boat looking to move up, and then work out such a deal. The challenge lies in the law of numbers of course, you're going to take a much bigger hit than the smaller boat owner.

You might be better off just buying a smaller boat because the hit you're going to take on getting rid of the bigger boat may be bigger than what the smaller boat costs.

I trailer my 310. It is not much THAT much different than trailering a 260, unless you frequent a lot of narrow roads.

Agree with everyone. Its tough right now. My thinking is a trade would be a little easier for the family. If we can find a 24 or 25, and get some cash to boot, Id be happpy.

Im in School, and have a new job, we just cant get down to the boat as often as we want. This way we can tow down when we want, but still have access to the local lakes.

I know this is an old post but is there anyone looking to down size, I have a 2000 Chris Craft 268EC for trade?
