Looking for used generator

I have a 2006 kohler 5ecd with 115hrs on it.
I belive I need a adc 2100 module but can't justify spending over 2 k usd on this.

I looking to replace with a westerbeke 5 with a carburetated motor.

please let me know if you have something available for sale

While I understand there is a point of no return when buying new parts for old equipment, I still must deduce that used generators must be much more numerous and consequently more affordable there than they are here. Have you priced them at all?

I would view a genny with 115 hours as barely broke in. Surely it isn't a write off over that ?
Have you confirmed that diagnosis?

Just a brief cursory search I found one for $1445, but there seem to be multiple part numbers for an ADC2100 so I can't confirm that is the right one.

StayCurrent on here is a generator guy and can offer some educated opinions that I can not.
I believe he sponsors a Q&A thread on here as well. I encourage you to contact him either way, if he doesn't see this.

I have had a lot of feed back from members here with advise on what they found

I have installed new impeller cleaned fuel system checked fuel pressure new injector cleaned heat exchanger changed map and voltage reg tested stator

Tested every sensor and coils with instructions from the kolhler service manual


The unit is in my garage I have spent over 600 dollars with no Change

I'm sure I have narrowed down to the ADC module. Another 2k and it might be great for its life time but these things have a terrible reputation.

I would rather sell or trade mine to a company and put the money towards a simpler unit that runs at 1800 rpm over the 3600
If I could find a adc2100 for a reasonable price or borrow one to ensure the issue i.woukd certainly do that

I stumbled on this thread and now I'm just curious if you solved the problem or ended up finding a replacement. I have "no dog in this fight", but I'm just curious. (and if you did end up solving it, posting a solution might help others caught in the same dilemma)

I ended up selling my Kohler for parts

I bit the bullet and bought a new westerbeke efi unit
