Hi,

I just acquired a 1996 Sundancer 270 and now I am looking for a trailer or at least the dimensions for a trailer.

Thanks
Greg

I looked for a while for a used trailer for my 280DA and after a wonderful lack of results, I purchased new from LoadMaster. The problem I ran into from a used trailer perspective was after the cost of initial purchase plus cost of re-jigging the bunks to fit my hull and thru-hulls it was just easier to spec a new one specifically designed for my boat. Good luck, BTW Loadmaster has been fantastic to deal with.. new trailer to be completed in 5 days..:smt038

Also it would be good to know if you need a fresh water trailer or saltwater trailer as there are some differences like the type of breaks and stuff.

I have a MagicTilt Tandem axle suppose to be one of the best it has surge breaks and LED lighting. I've actually had people stop next to me and comment to me on how good the lighting on the trailer was.

The only thing I wish I had opted for was the fold away tounge

Thanks Guys,

How much work is involved with reconfiguring a trailer?
I have a machine shop at my disposal if I need it.
The traielr would only be used for winter storage and to transporting the boat to and from the launch ramp in the spring/fall. Therefore I prefer not to have a huge investment in a trailer, keep the money for the on water activities.

Hey - I have a similar boat and purchased the trailer as part of the deal with Marine Max. It is an aluminum Magic Tilt and was originally used to tow a 260DA. They had to adjust the bunks and they moved the bow roller/winch forward about 8 inches to balance things out. I'll be glad to send you pics or more info on the trailer model etc if you want.

I had my 92 30' DA on a bunk trailer that was from a 35' go fast boat. I just used tie down straps on the front eye to keep it from moving forward or back. this might open your seach criteria a little. It was a triple axle that I just sold last year for $2200 which is the price I bought it for two years earlier. Anyway, used it for launching and winter storage and towed it the 1/4 mile with my Expedition....no problems. Also would hire a tow firm to tow it to better locations and drop it for me to launch.
Minimal adjustments on trailer to get it to work other than widening the guide poles and moving the bunk to their widest position.

I have my 1997 270 DA on a new Seahawk by Nextrail. Double axle @ 10,500 lbs

Thanks all.

I bought a 1995 load-rite trailer, 8,000+ lb capacity. It had a 27.5' crownline on it. Tandem axle with 4 drum brakes and flush kit.

Did you get to keep the Crownline thats on it?:smt043:grin:

No, it was a nice boat, he traded it in for somehting bigger.
Two boats is enough for me. I still have my 19.6' Mako center console. I hate having problems like this
