I splashed my boat 2 weeks ago and tried to turn on the cockpit dc radio (clarion). I can barely hear the stations and have no volume. I have checked the fuses associated closely behind the radio and cd changer and they are ok. Trip fuses are ok. I have been looking for the location of the amp since it has a 40amp fuse. None of my schematics show its location. Can anyone help? Thanks wetnose

My 310 Sundancer has the amp in the closet next to the radio (on the wall closest to the radio). It is a big 4025 Clarion amplifier.

The radio is on the port side as you descend the stairs into the salon. It is just above the ac and dc panels. I removed the ac panel directly below and found nothing. I looked under the dash at the helm and tried to follow the wires from the remote control on the helm to no avail.

Wetnose, If you go to Sea Ray's web site you may be able to find your parts manual - it may be in the archives. It should show the installed location. On the 380DA it located in the salon behind the couch (back rest). Did you have the batteries out (or disconnected) for the winter? There is a issue with the control head resetting some features (I didn't have audio in the cockpit but it worked fine in the cabin). IIRC there was some feature/setting to change and it worked (If thats it I have the instructions on the boat - Im @ work till 7a)

I replaced the batteries before I splashed, but all the switches were off---I thought. That's why I thought maybe I had blown a fuse.

On my 42 the lower amp is located in the port lockerbehind a panel where the CD changers are. The upper unit is under the helm panel. Just start crawling around and looking in the out of the way places!

Try looking behind the mid berth couch on the back side. It sounds like you need to reset your radio. In 2004 Clairon had a problem with the radio's if they had no power to them for over two weeks. Your dealer will have the informaion on how to reset or you can find it on line at the Clairon website. I learned the hard way trouble shot my amp until I get all the settings messed up before I found out it was the radio. It took me a while to reset all the settings. A real pain. Good Luck
