I am looking into the purchase of a 79 SRV200. It has a closed bow (not thrilled) and a Mercury 350 chevy. I have the bigger 73 weekender that I am working on that will take some time. I always wanted a pair of boats . One just for joyriding and the like. V8 powered that goes fast. The other for cruseing and such. I would get one hell of a deal on her. Waiting to truck back and look her through. Just wanted to know who had or has one and can tell me what to expect performance and handleing wise. How much of a pain is the closed bow. And so on.
Thanks in advance.

I had a 78 srv 195 equipped with an OMC outdrive and a 351 2 barrell, and while your 350 is pushing a little more power,my boat could go close to 50 (not checked by gps) fully trimmed, you could expect about the same.I too like open bow set up boats.I'm 35 so I had little problems getting out of the boat, and onto the beach from the bow,but my parents did. It's been a few years since I've owned that boat but I remember it being a stable dry riding boat.
