DTS MPI 350 MAG Bravo 3 with 26 pitch props,
I have a 26 pitch 3 blade SS props on a 210 Select w/ MPI 350 MAG w/ Bravo 3. Has anyone tried different pitch combinations with inproved hole shot while not over reving at WOT? At over a $1000 per pair, I would like to get the correct combination with out buying multiple sets. :smt100

First you need to find out what WOT is for your engine. Then what WOT you are hitting with your current prop.

If you are pretty close on the two WOTs then you have the correct props and maybe they just need to be refurbished.

If your WOTs are off- Each 1" change in pitch is about 150-200 rpms. So if you go from your 26" pitch props to a 24" set your rpms would increase 300-400 rpms.

A good site that explains a bit- http://www.propmd.com/t-PropellerBasics.aspx#rpm

The SeaRay.com site will give you specs on your boat and motor.

Plenty of used props out there for way cheaper, ebay, craigslist, etc. I have a set of 24" & 28" to sell.

I might be interested in the 24 pitch set. Price and Condition?
Do you know what diameters the 24 pitch set is? Are they SS off a Bravo III?
4 blades or 3 blades?

First you need to find out what WOT is for your engine. Then what WOT you are hitting with your current prop?

I am around 4800 RPM at WOT with my current 26 pitch SS 3 blade props. I believe they are the factory installed props and are in good condition.

The WOT range for your engine should be stated somewhere on the block by Mercruiser. My manual said the range was 4800-5200 but the engine marking said 4600-5000. If I went by the manual I was out of spec but well within it based on the engine marking.

210 Select- I am sorry I was mistaken, the props I have are 26" and 28".

Look on your engine for WOT, but it should be 4800-5200. So you should have a little room to play as long as you know not to knock on max rpm for too long and you probably have a rev limiter on the engine, or at least a warning buzzer.

Try some 24" pitch props. Buy used, if they don't work out sell them again for no, or very little loss. Sell your old ones. A cheap upgrade.

Look on ebay and/or a national search on craigslist. You can get a good used set for $400-600.

Anyone looking sell a set of Bravo III 24pitch props?

Another way to go is to install a set of Smart Tabs. You won't lose anything off your top end, they'll give you a quicker hole shot and even smooth out your ride. You can get them just about anywhere for $130 and they take about an hour to install.

If I change Props I will proable sell my current set.
