Hi, Hoping someone can off some assistance. ( This is my first post of a question) I have a 2007 270 SLX, and recently purchased a used anchor windlass for this boat. The previous owner purchased the great looking, heavy, stainless anchor as a option for the boat, but never ordered the windlass to pull it. I want to know if SeaRay actually prewires their boats for this optional windlass. I have not been able to find anything in the locker or near the battery area. I have gathered a little info on line , but hoping a real SeaRay owner can offer assistance.

Thanks, Bill M.

I cannot say specifically for your boat, but I can tell you that there are several factory options that my boat does not have and the wiring in the locations where they would go from the factory does not exist. I've heard some people say that the harness are all "pre made" so everything should be there, and to some degree that makes sense. However, in my case that is not accurate.

If you don't see any wiring or connections where something would be from the factory chances are you'll have to run the wires yourself.

Years ago, there were some boats that would come through pre-wired. However, at the time, there was really no rhyme or reason to why some might be pre-wired, and others weren't. But I have not seen it that way for quite some time. Given the age of your boat, I would assume it wasn't pre-wired (plus, bowriders were even less likely to be prewired). If you don't see anything where you have looked, then that pretty much closes the book on this and it is NOT pre-wired.

When you look inside the anchor locker, looking up from under the front bow cushion, the wires come in from the port side of the boat. They will be easily found if they exist. Second, the switches for control will exist in your dash. Lastly, there will be a heavy gauge red wire from the front battery going to the side wall and landing on a large amp breaker. If those three things are not there, not prewired.
