Looking for Chicago transient marina recommendations!

We have a 4 day weekend planned in mid Sept, and thought we would like to make the run from Michigan City to Chicago. We are hoping to find a marina that would be walking distance to some shopping, maybe some museums, etc. Checked Active Captain, but there are so many options, I just thought I would solicit opinions from the loyal CSRers. Suggestions on what not to miss would be appreciated too. Thanks! KP

Call HammondMarina they would know. We stay there a lot but 30 min by water to Chicago.

31st st is a great marina, if you don't plan to leave your boat. Don a bullet proof vest otherwise.

Dusable is the best for what your looking for...
