Talked to the broker and he said it's in beautiful condition and the hull looks like new (they just polished it). They replaced the isinglass because of a couple cloudy spots... and there's no dinghy. He also said that their has only been one 'lowball' offer on it and the owner turned it down.
Any thoughts?

I swear the link was here!

Here it is again.

The following few responses are my fault... the link to the boat ad. went missing... hehe... oops :)

I've always felt the designated hitter rule was the beginning of the decline of western civilization.

Henry,
I always thought it was when they paid a football player in the NFL (no free lunch) more money than a Doctor or Dentist.
George

I thought it was when a politician goes in poor and comes out rich

I was hoping some folks would share a few thoughts or comparisins of what they see (or purchased) in their area. This one seems ok to me but the collective intelligence here is worth tapping in to. You 3 clowns bring the avreage down... surely you have something better to do. Feel free to stay out of this thread if you're just going to be an ass.

What info have you given that a person could compare to. Come on, at least put a pic up or tell us the price.

I think the issue with your question is we see no question in your question.

Here, I’ll help you.

I own a 2003 280 Sundancer. It’s loaded. Twin 5.0's w/BIII drives, generator, radar, GPS, windlass, full camper top and more. I’ll just give you my opinion on what I think my boat would sell for, and NO I am not interested in selling it for what it would sell for in today’s economy. I think the boat would fetch between.......gulp..........$46,000 to $50,000. For sure not over $50K. If it does not have a generator take off at least $3,000-$4,000. I feel my boat is in very good condition. I’m not going to use the word “Excellent condition” as per the description at NADA if its Excellent the bar is pretty darn high although I think most brokers would call my boat excellent condition.

BTW, that is way less then I have invested into the boat. I’m not basing this value on how much I have invested in the boat. I am basing it on the boats that I have seen for sale that HAVE SOLD, not the ones that remain for sale.

We enjoy the boat and I’m happy we have it. We have had it for 3 summers.

The 280 Sundancer is one of Sea Ray’s best ever successes, possibly its #1.

The boat market sucks due to this economy. Deals are plentiful even on a model like the 280 Sundancer.

Due to the 280 Sundancer being so ubiquitous you can easily do price comparisons at any major used boating website.

Umm, what is your question again?

Also, if you have a eBay account (free), log in, click on “advanced” then click on “completed auctions” and look at the highest bid of various completed auctions.

This will give you a very current, real world idea of what people are offering, not necessarily what people are asking for the boat.

Magster,

What did you expect? A comment on an age unknown 280DA on the topics of:
a) you speaking to a broker,
b) a polished hull that looks new,
c) replaced eisenglass on unspecified pieces of canvas,
d) no dinghy,
e) an unspecified lowball offer.

You've been around here for a while, I assume (or dare I?) you have read the 280 thread, as well as the many other 280 posts. One would think you should be as well informed as anyone on most of the basic 280DA questions and answers. Being so equipped you should also then be able to articulate a more specific question.

Ask a specific question, and if I can answer I'll do my best to help you. Ask an open ended 'what do you think?' with no preamble to comment on and you will get a fitting response.

You 3 clowns

bring the average down... surely you have something better to do. Feel free to stay out of this thread if you're just going to be an ass.

Lighten up

" Go figure " We're all three, sponsors and he calls us clowns. Oh well!!!!!!!
George

Not just clowns but clowns that act like a$$es, in otherwords...a$$clowns. While my 280DA is dinghyless I am not and would have been a little upset if I were included in the group guilty of such a$$clownery. Personally I think all 280DA should get about 100G. They are special, they're not made anymore you know and soon to be in great demand. Especially those captained in the fresh water of Lk Superior.

Holy crap... I'm so sorry! I take it all back!
Where's my link!!!!!!!?????
No wonder... it kinda' makes sense now... I musta' screwed up editing or something? I swear it was there!
You mad? :)
Let's try this again...
