Looking at 390 MY

Hello all,

New member here from Toronto, Canada (South Georgian Bay) Looking at the SR 390 MY and wanted some tips from past/present owners on what to look for / common issues / recommended options. Two immediate questions: What are the production years for this model 390MY; is this model avail with diesels?

Yes they are avail with diesels. I had a gas 390MY, under powered in my opinion.
Loved the boat though, especially the hard top with heat and air on the bridge.

I believe the first model year is 2003. Original diesel option was the Cummins 480CE. In 2006, the name was changed to 40MY but it's the same boat. In 2007, the diesel option changed to the Cummins QSB 425.
Not too many unique class problems that I'm aware of so regular due diligence should be OK. If you look at a 480CE powered boat, that engine has a history and you would want extra diligence in evaluating one, to include a real expert or Cummins tech taking a look. Not unique to this class but common in similar-sized and model year Sea Rays, voids around the bilges can get filled up with water, I would expect a good surveyor to catch that.
