We had a few days so went to the boat.
Just 3 nights, so decided to stay in the Clearwater area. Moved the boat over to the city marina - then did our boating on the dinghy.
Wow, what an awesome area. So much to do within the local area.
We like leaving mid day, riding around and finding a place we can pull into to eat. Everyone seems to like pictures so including a few.
Day 1
Wound up over near the beach marina. Ate at the place on the end - Salt Cracker - something like that. Definite return - probably. I say probably since there are probably 8-10 places near by that we want to try.
City docks with free day docking. Tied up and explored.
Day 2
Went 3-4 miles north on the GICW to Dunedin. Once again free day docks. Ate at a place called Bon Appetite. Walked a couple of blocks into town. Downtown area full of shops, restaurants, and Brew Houses. Will take multiple trips to exhaust the options. Found an ice cream shop for desert.
Day 3
Back across to the beach side, under the causeway and up the channel. Frenchy's has docks there that you can tie up for free (as long as you visit one of their places). Left there went around and out the Clearwater pass to the end of the jetty's. Had Grouper Nuggets.
Cruised around the area a bit.
Back to the boat for some work. Admiral was worried the fenders were getting dirty.
Dinner one night at Clear Sky. We have eaten there before - fantastic food. (I have no idea who the guy is in the picture).
We are really falling in love with the west coast of FL. After a couple of years of urban boating in the Lauderdale/Miami area this is a great change of pace.
Posting this in case anyone finds themselves in the area on a boat, there are a lot of places to go.
Fun area.
