Lofrans Windlass not working...

Last week the vertical windlass worked just fine, went to ancher this week and the main power switch at the help did not come on when pressed. I checked the breaker on the main panel in the engine compartment-not blown. Checked the power at the switch and it was dead. Checked the power to the windlass-none.

Next step was going to be to pull the cover off the panel in the engine compartment and check the power coming into the fuse. Any other suggestions?

I would double check the main breaker in the ER. It is sometimes difficult to tell if it popped, they don't come out much. You also have to push it pretty hard to reset.

On my 280 there is a second breaker, in the engine compartment, not on the main panel. It took me hours to figure out what was going on. The breaker was not shown on the Sea ray wiring diagrams. It was forward of the main panel in the engine compartment, tucked up in the corner, just with in reach. My symptoms were just a bit different, I had power to the windlass switch at the helm, but no action up front. Just thought I'd mention it. Good luck, that can be a frustrating one....

I had the same problem on my 280DA and it turned out to be the breaker on the port wall in the engine compartment. Very hard to find. Mine was located near the batteries and had wires covering the breaker. The breaker is black and had a little switch that flipped out the side when the breaker tripped. Pushed the little switch back in to the breaker and shazam!!! Power to the windlass.

Aquadancer- You are 'da man! You were correct, the breaker had popped and I had to reset by pressing pretty hard. Problem solved! THANK YOU!
