I purchased a new fixed mount VHF radio and I am looking to see where people have mounted them. In talking to Marine Max they told me they have mounted them in the cubby under the throttle and on the dash. Where is yours? If you have pictures that I could see how it looks that would be great. Thank you in advance for your suggestions and comments. Before anyone says i should go with a handheld unit... I thought about it and I decided to go with the fixed mount due to the range on the river.

Thanks,
Chris

I just purchased a 200 Sundeck and was considering a similar purchase.

Where do you plan to mount the antenna?

Thanx in advance.

I am not sure, I would think close to the cockpit so you can raise and lower as needed. But I think I am going to end up bringing it to Marine Max and having them put it in the storage spot to the right of the driver forward of the throttle. MM priced at $200 including antenna mount. They say a flush mount is around $300 but I don't know where we could flush mount it on this boat. I plan on doing this in the next couple of weeks so I can take some pictures for you. It doesn't sound like anyone else has done this or has any idea's.

Congratulations, its great to see someone else on here with the same boat. I did purchase the 4' antenna like the one pictured so that helps to visualize... Thanks.

Hey guys....just saw this post and I am psyched that we have the same boats! Lots of 220 and 240's but not soooo many 200.
I have been contimplating mounting a GPS or handheld GPS.......any ideas?

Also did you guys figure out some mounting for the VHF yet?

Great to see you Weave I agree it's great to see others that we can bounce idea's off of. As far as the GPS goes, I contemplated for a long time and then ended up getting a Garmin 60Csx and bought a nice car windshield mount for it. it works great. You can get lakemaster chips for it to show depth and structures but I am primarily on the Mississippi and St Croix rivers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. For my needs it works well.

I have been going between the new colorado series and the 76 csx.....I am not familiar with the lakemaster chips......can you explain further?

Did you mount your VHF yet?
Also, what prop are you running? Mine came with the 19P Vengence but I am thinking about swapping it.....Who knows....

I have not mounted the VHF yet, I am looking at maybe next week. I am running the same prop on mine. Why are you thinking about swapping it? Speed? Faster hole shots?

Just wondering if I could get a better top end.....I will probably keep the same one on there

I was looking into the same thing a couple of weeks ago and I think it might give you 1 or two miles per hour more but thats about it.

Mine is an 06 but I think they are basically the same boat, I think they just added the radio controls on the stearing wheel.

OK, I did it. I had the radio mounted under the dash and to the right. That area is slanted which actually worked out quite well and the antenna is mounted right next to my Bimini rail. I looks good, I will post some pictures as soon as it stops raining here... So maybe next summer.
