Location of stereo amplifier on 2003 380SD

Hi, we have a 2003 380 Sundancer, and are trying to upgrade the stereo. Problem is, we can't seem to locate the amplifier. We have "torn the boat apart" looking for it, and before we do anything else, I thought I would check to see if anyone here knows where to find it so we can access it.

On the 2005 340, the factory standard amp is mounted behind the main electrical panel in the salon. Might be worth a look. By the way, the standard factory amp (at least on the 340) was very small in size...at first I didn't recognize it as an amp....good luck.

On my 04' there are two amps (1) is the size of a pack of cigarettes that is for the cabin speakers and (2) is the main cockpit amp. It is located behind the right salon seat back. It appears to be in the same location on your 380DA (page 40 #24 of parts manual). There are screws along the bottom (when you remove the right salon seat cushion) after removing the screws (5 or 6) lift up on the back, as it rests on pins that drop into the flat trim behind the seat back. FYI if you need to run wires/cables to the stereo from the cockpit there is a corrogated tube that carries the antenna to the stereo head in the cabin to the helm station plastic insert panel (to the right of the helm seat - remove for access). Its large diameter and makes running additional cables a breeze. Good luck. - Jeff
