I got to the County Voting place about 12:15 and completed voting around 12:16, one person in front of me.

After voting, I took an informal poll of those around me and based on the results, it looks like McCain/Palin will be elected by a landslide.

The folks I polled were a man and his wife, or should I say, me and the Admiral

It seems there are quite a few McCain supporters on the site. However, I'm afraid to say, I think we may be doomed...

It's hard for me to tell what's going on in the rest of the country. In this city, you wouldn't even know McCain was a candidate unless you talked to someone in another state.

I think and hope you are kidding.

My father said the above and he is dead serious and scared. He’s also aging and becoming paranoid. His ability to think rationally is failing and I worry about him. He truly believes Obama is a terrorist.

I’ll try to sum up here what I have said to him.

First, no matter who wins the election, this country is the best country in the world.

Also, we will have very serious financial problems no matter who is elected.

If we are truly doomed with the election of one of the candidates then we are certainly doomed with the election of either candidate.

The founders of this country set it up so no one can stay in power for long. If things get worse then who ever is elected will most likely get defeated in the next election, that’s just how it goes.

Also, don’t spend your day listening only to those that share the same political views as you. Spend some time listening to the other side.

It’s highly unlikely you agree or disagree with all of the topics with either candidate.

Finally, if its really getting to you, turn off the TV, radio, put down the newspaper and go for a walk, do something fun, don’t think about politics.

I like Presentation's take on things.
It is definately not hard to find things upon which to agree. All you have to do is listen.

As you all can tell, I like arguing politics with people who don't agree with me.

I think our town in VT will probably be the only McCain town in our county again, based on the signs I see around town, and knowing the basic makeup of the town voters.

So what time should I set my alarm to to wake up turn on the tv and then throw up?

About 7AM. Just be sure to put a water soluble photo of Barak Osama (?) in your head before you heave. It will make you feel better, but just don't post a photo of it on CSR, else you might be in a temporary "read-only" status. :smt043
