Hey Gang!!!

Anybody have any good ideas for storing bottles of alcohol onboard? I have a cabinet to hold about 8 bottles but when underway they make tons of noise and end up rolling all over the place and will eventually one of them is going to break. I’ve looked on line but can’t find any solutions.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you!!

The prior owner of my boat simply cut holes in a 1/2" piece of starboard, created 2 legs for it that are 3" +/- tall. Set the bottles in through the holes, no movement. Pretty slick and cheap. Wish I had pictures!

I thought of doing something like that with foam. But there are so many different shape bottles :(

If you fly internationally when you get duty free liquor it comes with a soft plastic mesh screen sock on it so the bottles will not bang each other. Ask your traveling friends if they have any.

Jim Beam has a plastic bottle, as does Pinnacle - just sayin' ;-)

I always wrapped mine in towels, stuck them in the cushions , mattress and such while under power.

Agreed to no glass on a boat, but beer tastes soooo much better from a bottle.

Just put enough In the cabinet and that holds them tight.

One of my boating buddies just installed some sort of dispensing system where he can store up to five liquors. There's a new faucet at his sink, he pushes a button and one of the five comes out of it. As I said to him, you know you got a drinking problem when...

It was probably a Wunderbar system made right here in Vacaville CA. They make all sorts of dispensing equipment for bars and also pizza kitchens, They make the dispenser that Costco uses to apply an even layer of sauce on their pizzas. A fellow 420 SD owner recently retired from there, he used to have their engineers build really custom gadgets for his boats.

We simplified our bar offerings for the boat. You could have any drink you asked for as long as it was vodka. We bought the large half gallon bottles always made from plastic. The cabinet beneath the stairs into the salon had a plastic basket where we stored the vodka and mix which was also in plastic bottles. The location was roughly midships so it was a relatively smooth ride and we never had any issues with spills even in big Lake Michigan seas.
