Eric,
Welcome aboard!! I will be watching this thread closely as I would love to put a wood flooring in my boat too. You can try to do a search for wood floor upgrades to get some ideas but, I don't recall any 330's that it was done on.

I got tired of trying to keep the carpet clean. I pulled up the carpet and made a template of the floor in the cabin then transferred it to a piece of 3/4 inch plywood. I then bought a box of Allure flooring (teak) from Home Depot and attached it to the plywood. I took a belt sander to the edges then stained the edge to match the allure. Then I put a coat of skippers varnish on the edge (not the Allure). I did this over the winter my thought is to lay it down and it should have a solid feel to it. I'm not sure if it will slide around, it's pretty heavy but if it does I believe a few strips of Velcro will stop the sliding. I will take pictures when it's in place. I had the Allure in the cabin last season but it felt like a sheet of linoleum, I'm sure this will change that.

I look forward to the pics!!

search amtico one of the members did an excellent job w/product. I am having mine done with it this april. this is what they are using in new boats

I pulled all the carpet out of my 33-0 and replaced it with Lonsal (teal an holly) Looks greak-what a great upgrade. Also redid my steps with 1 inch thick teak . Mixed in some sand with a clear coat. Also a great improvement

Jason,
I forgot about that thread. Man those floors look awesome. What did you use and how hard was it to do? Did you have to remove the dinette? How about doing stairs? Mine are the open kind. I am perplexed at how to attack them.

Hey Todd,
I would put this at a 9 of 10 on the handyman list. I used 3/8 solid prefinished brazilian cherry. Doing the steps in mine was a Pita as you can imagine. On your steps I would suggest something like Bridog did with the teak. IMO its a sweet set up...

Thanks Jason! Dude, you are like the CSR almanac!! That is a great find. My steps are enclosed on each end but have no risers in the back. I could possibly make something out of the cherry. Why not kick it up to a 10 out of 10 handyman scale, right?

Oh the other half says I am a CSR junkie... Do you have a pic of your steps so I can visualize? Not to highjack the original thread PM me if you want...

I've been doing the floors on my 340 for about the last 3 weeks, and finally have some pics, so I hope this helps. I pulled up all my carpet, then leveled the floor with any epoxy filler. The 340 floor was quite level to begin with, so this step was relatively painless at only 3 evening worth of work, including sanding. I then laid a 1/2" engineered hickory floor with a mild adhesive. If I have to get it up again, I can, but it will remain in place until I decide to pull it. Each piece is individually fitted, with no edges visible. This took the longest - I've probably got 3 weekends and 10 additional hours during the week into this segment of the project.

Once the floor was complete, I made up a series of teak trim pieces - 13 in all. These fit around the three hatches, and one acts as a transition piece between the mid stateroom and the saloon. Each one is custom fitted, sanded, then urethaned to match the floor.

All the hatches are new construction, 1 1/4" thick. There are a tad heavier than the originals, but utterly rigid when walked upon. I will probably put some additional info on the blog either tonight or tomorrow, but it's looking like tomorrow right now - too much more to do tonight.

Oh, one more thing. If your boat has any leaks, fix them, and keep your bedding in top shape, or your new floor will pay the price...

Great job Dale! I am sure the pictures don't do it justice.... Can't wait to see in person!
