Boat was plugged in to 50A 220 volt shore power Burnt the 50A Breaker and tripped breakers in the boat A/C ,water Pump for A/C Inverter and Tripped allot of the 12 volt breakers. Checked everything autopilot not working powering up says low battery, and voltmeters on dash reading 16-18v with motors running 12 volts with engines off. Sorry for your luck, I would tend to think that the homeowners also would pick up since it was plugged in and not a seperate strike.

Good luck and let us know how it plays out.

I would suggest you place a call to your state's Insurance Commissioner and get them involved in the run around you are receiving. If the Insurance Commissioner's office in your state is anything like they are in WA, all it will take will be a phone call from them to your insurance agents and this matter will get solved and fixed quickly.

Find your state's website, then look for the Insurance Commissioner's office. It probably will have to be put in writing so start taking good notes of dates, times, who you talked with, etc.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm very sorry for your experience.... I "totally" understand. I was hit while on lift via the vhf antenna. Surge traveled through the ENTIRE DC system. ALL electronics (radar, gps, everything) was gone. Stereo's, Generator, Alternators on motors. Boat wouldn't even start. Refrig gone. EVERYTHING! I must say.... I have Boat US insurance. They couldn't have made me happier. I turned it in through them, never even asked a question about the house. They towed the boat (wouldn't even start) to a Yacht repair center close to the house so I could watch what was happening,,,, On A Daily Basis :).... Now,,,, 1 year later (was not a quick fix), my boat is basically brand new. New everything. Total bill ran up into the upper $50K range. No Joke! I do have an enhancement to the insurance policy for "replacement", not value. I hope everything works out well for you. Again, very sorry for your ordeal your just starting to deal with.

You should be able to file with the boat insurance and let them battle with homeowners to see who actually pays.

Boat insurance sending someone out to check everything and said they would work it out with homeowners .
Boat seams to be running fine but alternators over charging Voltage regulators bad I think and not sure about the inverter.
We use The boat allot sure hope it don't take too long to repair.
Thanks for help will keep you undated
