A friend is having trouble with lifting his bilge hatch on a 2000 Sundancer 380.

When he presses the up switch, we just get a click. The other day, he kept pressing it and it finally came up. We did notice that once it's up, you can go up and down, but not all the way down cause once it's down it won't come up again.

Now we think it finally died.

So the question is, is it the cylinder or the actual pump motor thingie:huh:

Sometimes the connections are just corroded and need to be cut off and new connectors attached. These are the wires attached at the bottom of the cylinder.

Mine had that problem. The screw threads on the cylinder were binding when closed, causing the mechanism to just slip (the clicking noise). Adjust the cylinder down a fraction is what the dealer did, so that the threads don't bottom out.
