All summer long we had no problem with duck poop. Now as boats are being pulled out for winter, the ducks have overtaken the pier and there is shat everywhere. Seems they know when its time to take over.
Thoughts on a shitty subject?

Don't know how smart those ducks are.
They must be smarter than chickens though, since the Colonel didn't do ducks.

Maybe try hanging a few bags of Shake-N-Bake around the dock.

There's a marina in Williamsburg Virginia on the James River, the name escapes me. When you pull in there to get fuel you can't even walk on the dock because of all the duck shit.

Our problem was geese. Our town build brand new poly floating docks for the launch ramp, and apparently they liked the texture because they only came there to do their business.

The local fire dept. would come once a week with a pumper and blast the docks. Unfortunately, I always needed to use the ramp on the 6th day.

The town got some kind of "chemical" to spray the docks. Problem solved. It must have been environmentally friendly or they would not have used it. They wouldn't divulge it. Maybe do a google.

(my own personal private pond dock has a similar problem, I solved it with lead. But that isn't legal in city limits)

Our slip was geese poop too, everywhere on the dock, everyday. Marina owner bought two cardboard dogs that attach to the side of the dock and the wind blows them around. We haven't had geese poop in over 2 months now. It was something like this site: Dog Decoys Get Rid Of Geese (watchdoggoosepatrol.com)

Nothing makes you laugh harder than looking out the window of the boat to see your neighbor with a goose by the neck. He tried to shoo it off and it turned at him. He was the wrong person to do that to. I almost spit out my coffee.

They used to shit all over my dock, jetdocks and swim platform this time of year in Jersey because they were coming up into the yard to eat acorns on their flight south. Metallic streamers seemed to cut way down on them

I like the metallic streamer idea. Where buy something like that? Post pictures next time there so i can see how they did it.
That property is sold and I am full time down here in Florida. I’ll see if I can find a listing online for what it was. I honestly don’t remember where I bought it now.

There is a little cove in my area that is a wildlife preserve. Fantastic spring fishing, but no motors. It's a haven for Kayakers. I can still access it with my little tinny, just raise the motor and use the oars.

One day I was watching a group paddle in. There was a goose on the water and you could see its mate on the nest. One guy that had a lot of talk kayaked over and laughed about how he could get the goose to fly. Moments later the layak was upside down and the guy was screaming like a baby. A kodak moment but mine was at home.
